UPCOMING A.T.C. EVENTS

Long time ATC member Jim Olsen passed away this morning. Jim was a force at the Club for many years and served on the Board for several terms. The Ole Tugboat Captain was always there to help unload targets into our storage cars. He ran the desk and filled trap houses. Jim was a good shot who spent many hours tinkering with his loads for shotgun and rifle. Some of you might not know Jim because he hasn't been around much after his wife died a while back. Jim was one of those crusty old guys who spoke his mind then did the work. He was a kind man who put ATC first. Year after year he was always there making sure we had sodas and snacks. He would make up a special load for my 20ga and just give them to me. I will miss him and his straight forward advice. ATC has lost a part of itself today. -- Bernie

- Buddy Backer Shoot ~ Second and Fourth Thursdays @ 6:00 PM

BUDDY BACKER SHOOT is a luck of the draw 2 shooter team event. Both shooters will alternate shooting first at the target. If the first shooter misses the second shooter gets to back them up. This will be a 30 target per team shoot.

- Lannom Handicap Returns ~ First and Third Thursdays starting January 21, 2010 @ 6:00 PM

THE LANNOM HANDICAP will be shot the first and third Thursdays of each month.

This event was named for long time Club member Press Lannom Sr. He was a driving force for the Club in the 70's, 80's and early 90's.

The event is 2 rounds of handicap trap. Your registered handicap will be used. If you don't have one "known ability" will be used to set your distance.

There is a purse each night of shooting and a continuing purse until one shooter wins twice. This means the continuing purse (Pot-O-Gold) keeps growing. When a shooter has won twice they are awarded the daily purse and 1/2 the Pot-O-Gold. The other 1/2 is divided among those who won a daily purse during this period. Each daily winner will have one yard added to his handicap for the next shoot. The Pot-O-Gold winner will have one yard permanently added to their handicap. Sounds complicated. The front desk keeps all the records so all you have to do is shoot.
